Data Centers in Eastern Oregon

Since 2024, I've spoken with community members living in rural areas across the United States about how they are being impacted by data center proliferation. In May 2026, I made my second visit to Morrow County in Eastern Oregon to interview locals and capture footage of the recent industrialization.

Part of understanding how rural communities are changing means exploring why people chose to live there in the first place. My efforts to capture residents' quality of life included partaking in a cattle roundup and shadowing farming practices. All photographs film, shot on either a 35mm or 120mm (medium format) camera.

My small team of three journalists, including me, will return to Morrow County for filming several more times. We have a fiscal sponsor and received grant funding to expand phase 1 of the project into a long-form or multi-series documentary. For inquiries and more information, please contact me directly.
